Breathing is the most natural activity and yet often we ignore it. We take it for granted. Just now notice how you are breathing. Become aware of the quality of your breathing. Where do you breathe from? Your throat?  Or your chest? Ideally you would breathe from your belly. This is what babies do from the moment they take their first breath, they breathe from their belly. Notice if you are able to do that. And if not, notice what is stopping you from filling up like a bottle that is being filled with milk.

And then, when you breathe out, let the breath do the work, let it go. And then wait for a few seconds remaining on empty until you feel that your body wants to take another breath all by itself. You will find that if you can find that kind of rhythm, you breathing can happen all by itself.

Conscious breathing is the best way to supply your body and brain with much needed oxygen. It therefore is also the best way to clear and empty your mind, or to slow down your mind and bring you into the present moment. And this is what it’s all about, finding yourself back in your own presence.
